Nguyen’s Mental Health Diversion Reform Heads to Governor

Sacramento, CA — Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen’s AB 46 passed the Assembly Floor today on concurrence and now heads to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk for consideration.

AB 46 strengthens judicial discretion in California’s mental health diversion program by clarifying the public safety standard courts use when determining whether diversion should be granted.

Nguyen’s Mental Health Diversion Bill Passes Senate Floor

Sacramento, CA — Yesterday,  Assembly Bill 46 by Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen (D–Elk Grove) passed off the Senate Floor with bipartisan support, receiving 36 votes with no "No" votes. The bill now returns to the Assembly Floor for concurrence before heading to the Governor’s desk.

Nguyen’s Introduces AB 2507 to Formalize and Strengthen State-Tribal Relations
